Oh my god! I just realized NYCC is only two daysaway. That’s right. TWO days. What am I going to do? Who am I going to see?What kind of goodies will I get? Will I remember to eat? More importantly,where am I going to go after the con?
Here is a list of all the great events happeningafter the Javits Center lights dim and the partying begins as well as a fewtaking place while the sun is out.
Wednesday, Oct. 10
ACelebration of Pop Comics!"Wednesday, October 10th, on the eve of NewYork Comic Con, Depth Of Field Magazine is proud to present an evening ofconversation, refreshments, signings, and general revelry as we celebrate theintersection of comic books and popular music. 
This event take place at Jim Hanley's Universe onWest 33rd Street, beginning at 7pm. The panel discussion features an astoundingline-up of artists, writers, and commentators, including Charles Soule, AviSpivak, Jamal Igle, Elizabeth Keenan, Andrew Robinson, John Holmstrom, RonaldWimberly, David Gallaher, Kieron Gillen, Joe Keatinge, Vivek J. Tiwary, andother special guests. Complimentary refreshments are being contributed bysome of New York's finest establishments: Tompkins Square Bagels, SouthamptonBrewery, Saranac Brewery, and Lost Tribes Brewery.For more details and the mostup-to-date info, check the press release."
ExtremeMakeover: The Comics Edition"Join Jeff Yang, editor of the new graphicnovel collection SHATTERED and curator of Marvels & Monsters andAlt.Comics, as he and a celebrity panel of comic book authors and artistsdiscuss how stereotypes ruin stories and turn characters into cliches. The funreally begins when we invite leading local graphic novelists to share their own"Comic Book Extreme Makeovers”. NewYork Comic Con Kick-Off Concert with Ben Folds Five -"Ben Folds Five startit off right with a concert at 8:00 PM inthe IGN Theater. The concert is free to all VIP's and 4-Day ticket holders BUTseating is first come, first served and will be extremely limited due to sizeof the auditorium and popularity of the event. Ultimate Access and SpecialAccess VIP ticket holders will be guaranteed to get into the show first; then,4-Day ticket holders will be let in until the auditorium is full. The concertis open to all 4-Day ticket holders on a first come, first served basis and wecannot guarantee that all 4-Day ticket holders that want to attend the showwill be able to get in."

TruGeek:Ink & Spandex - 
"TruGeek is the newest unabashedly geeky party night in NYC! As NYCC approaches, we all find ourselves with an overabundance of pent up nerdy excitement, and at least one fantastic new costume we need to take on a test run before we hit the con floor. So come out with us and hit two Skrulls with one energy blast!  Enjoy drinks, dancing, and costumes with other like-minded individuals, dressed as our best comic book and superhero alter egos! I guarantee our costumes will look that much better by the end of the night ;-) FREE PARTY! No cover or drink minimum, although we guarantee awesome geeky themed drinks served by our gracious hosts at RBar! Special Guest DJ: DJ Jinduri! Get tickets for our raffle basket! TheImage Comics/Multiversity Comics Big NYCC Party - "Hosted by the Houndstooth Pub locatedon 8th Ave between 36th and 37th (a short 3-block walk from the Javits Center),the party will run from 8 PM to 12 AM in the Lower Level of the pub with a $10donation to the Hero Initiative to get in. It’s a 21+ event, and will assuredlybe a fun place for friends, fans and creators to meet, share a drink andmingle. The Big Party will also feature quite a few special Image guests, suchas Brian K Vaughan and Fiona Staples (SAGA), Justin Jordan and Tradd Moore (THELEGEND OF LUTHER STRODE), and Sina Grace, whose new graphic novel NOT MY BAGwill be debuting at NYCC! Almost all of Multiversity will be in attendance aswell, for those who want to talk beards and cats, and who knows — stick aroundand a few unexpected additional guests might pop-in as well."

BassmentSaturdays Presents: Comic Con After PartyHead over to The Studio at Webster Hall at 125 E.11th St. for a Star Wars themed dance party featuring dubstep, house,moombahton, trap, drum and bass. Sunday, Oct. 14 TheSteampunk Anachronism Meets The Goblin Market"One of New York City's friendliestSteampunk events meets dark interactive theatre, in a show with special guestsall the way from Chicago! Just as New York Comic Con ends, The Anachronismbegins, and you're most cordially invited - we welcome one and all! TheAnachronism showcases genre-bending Steampunk musical artists in a welcomingenvironment; The Goblin Market's actors mingle with the crowd and selltheir eerie wares to all and sundry. In addition to our welcoming atmosphere,unique absinthe cocktails, and good times, we have a half-dozen headliningperformers - any one of whom could cost as much as our mere $15 admission (thatis, $15 in advance, $20 at door). The crawl starts at 6:30 and ends up back at WebsterHall for a fantastic afterparty at 9:00 PM. The afterparty is $14 for zombies/$16 for normals. Must be 19+ to enter.
